Oxfordshire golfers John Mumford and Joe Kingston are one step away from a luxury five-day trip to one of Portugal's top courses.
They will qualify for an all-expenses-paid visit to San Lorenzo for the trophy finals if they win the next round of Europe's biggest pro-am competition, the Lombard Trophy.
More than 100,000 club golfers entered the contest, which is sponsored by the Royal Bank of Scotland.
Mr Mumford, 39, a LGV driver from Middleton Cheney, is married with two daughters and has been playing golf for 16 years. He plays off a handicap of four.
Mr Kingston has been the PGA professional at Banbury's Cherwell Edge course for 12 years.
The pair have won through to the regional finals at Kedleston park in May.
The winners of 14 regional finals played through the UK will go to Portugal.
