Steve Welbourne kept a stiff upper lip as he said goodbye to his beloved moustache.
Steve, 47, an agricultural representative of Keyser Road, Bodicote, agreed to be shaved to raise money for the Macmillan Nurses Appeal.
The event raised more than £500.
The shaving took place in the Baker's Arms, Bodicote, and village hairdresser Rachel Whitrow was called in to do the trim.
According to his children Sam, 12, and Tom, nine, Steve looks a lot younger without the moustache.
But wife Sally, who had only seen Steve without his moustache once before, thinks he looks better with it.
She said: "If he was going to shave it off, I'm glad it was for a good cause."
