Steeple Aston grab a last-gasp winner

With extra time looming, Bone powered home a header from the edge of the penalty area to leave Bardwell runners-up for the third year running.

Steeple Aston, playing in their first final for 20 years, had opened the scoring in the last minute of the first half.

Bardwell keeper Andy Simpson dropped the ball at the feet of Alex Damm, who rolled it into an empty net.

Shaun Adams equalised from the penalty spot in the 60th minute to set up a frenetic last half-hour capped by Bone's late winner.

Steeple Aston Res are hoping to make it a double celebration for the club after springing a surprise 3-2 win over KEA United in the Arthur Crawford Cup semi- final.

Adam Peckham gave Steeple an early lead, but KEA hit back to lead before half-time with goals from Sean Thorpe and Frank Godin.

Adrian English's 75th-minute strike put Steeple back on level terms and Jason Furness grabbed the winner ten minutes later.

In the final at Charlton-on-Otmoor on Friday, May 11 (6pm), they will face Souldern, who beat Bakels Crusaders 2-0 in the other semi.

Andy Druhan, with a goal in the first half, and Barry Sweetman's last minute penalty clinched victory for Souldern.

In Divisions 1 and 2, Neil Falkner bagged a brace for Heyford Athletic in their 3-1 win over Cutteslowe.

Garry Williams was also on target for Heyford, with Andy Potter netting Cutteslowe's consolation.

Finmere's Division 3 title hopes suffered a blow with a 2-1 defeat against Chesterton.

Steve Clarke and Chris Austin did the damage for Chesterton, with Darren Dodds replying.

Greg Auger scored all the goals as Finmere beat Bakels Crusaders 3-0 in their midweek clash.
