More than 1,500 households in north Oxfordshire are to take part in a major traffic survey.
Over the next few months, selected households will complete travel diaries on their daily trips.
The survey has been commissioned by the North Oxfordshire Consortium as part of the development of the former RAF base in Upper Heyford.
It will improve the understanding of the movement of people and of transport issues within the rural area.
The survey will be carried out by Taylor Nelson Sofres, the largest market research group in Britain.
Information required will include where people travel to, why they travelled, and how.
The results of the survey will assessed by the NOC, Buchanan Consulting Engineers, and University College, London.
The NOC has talked to the Oxfordshire Rural Community Council to decide how they can work together to establish the survey as part of a plan to ensure there is suitable transport for all.
The consortium will encourage people to take part in the survey by offering to enter them in a £1,000 prize draw.
