A £1.1m grant will help south Oxfordshire towards its target of providing 4,000 cheap homes over the next five years.
The social housing grant from the national Housing Corporation will go towards three projects. £910,659 goes towards providing 35 homes on the Pauls Malt site in Wallingford.
The Sovereign Housing Association gets £158,200 towards loans as part of the council's Homebuy home ownership scheme.
The English Villages Rural Housing Association gets £44,000 towards the cost of building eight new homes at Binfield Heath.
Stella Edwards, vice-chairman of the council's housing committee said: "This grant reinforces the council's commitment to providing affordable housing for local people."
