Millfield retained their Oxford National Schools Sevens title when they beat Llandovery College by four tries to two in the final at Iffley Road on Saturday.
This final produced a fitting climax to an exciting day's rugby, despite the dreadful weather.
Sixty-four of the 65 entries turned up for an event organised by Oxford University RFC and sponsored by Coca-Cola Enterprises.
Main local interest centred on Abingdon School, who reached the Senior Group C semi-finals before losing to eventual winners Yeovil College.
Adrian Thompson, England's seven-a-side manager, was there casting his eyes over some talented young players.
**Group winners - Senior A: Millfield. Senior B: King Henry VIII, Coventry. Senior C: Yeovil College. Junior A: Reigate GS. Junior B: Llandovery College.
