Bicester's relegation fears increased when they lost 33-27 to Beaconsfield in an entertaining match at Oxford Road.
With only two games to play, Bicester are certain to finish in the bottom four - and it is still a distinct possibility that four teams will go down.
Bicester's forwards scrummaged superbly, but severe problems in the line-out ultimately led to their downfall.
At the end of a competitive first half, Bicester trailed 17-12, with their tries coming from full back Paul Leverton and No 8 Joe Kelly. Adam Wade added one conversion.
Bicester drew level at 20-20 early in the second half, when Wade's penalty goal was followed by a try from skipper and hooker Martin Ewins, who powered over from a line-out.
Beaconsfield responded with a penalty and converted try, but Bicester again fought back with a try by winger Paul Inns, converted by Wade, to close the gap to three points.
However, a late drop goal secured victory for Beaconsfield, who are now favourites to finish runners-up.
