Banbury came from behind to beat Barkers Butts 20-18 with two late tries and so belatedly notched up their first away win of the season in Midlands Division 1.
It looked bleaked for Banbury against the wind in the first half, when they fell 13-0 behind to a penalty try plus eight points from the boot of Wayne Holmes
But, following a try-saving tackle from winger James Taylor, Banbury raised their game, and reduced the deficit before half-time with a penalty from Ben Harrison.
The second half started with Banbury dominating the line-out through the second row pairing of Dave Phipps and Simon Chatterton.
A high tackle on Taylor, who was stopped just short of the line, led to a penalty try, and Harrison's conversion left Banbury trailing by just three points.
The home side's prop forward Mark Lewis forced his way over for a try against the run of play. But, crucially, the conversion attempt struck the post.
Banbury did not allow their heads to drop, and late tries by centre Barry Lalanne and replacement winger Stuart Viggers clinched victory.
