Town crier Terry Jones turned heads in by donning traditional garb and taking to the streets.
Saturday's spectacle was organised by the Stead and Simpson shoe shop in the Market Place, Wantage, to publicise a new range of footwear.
The town centre store wanted to make a noise about its new range of Clark's shoes, which it is stocking for the first time. Store manager Jane Morris said: "We have never offered them before."
