An employment tribunal was today expected to decide if a dental nurse was sexually discriminated against.

Christine Palfrey, whose husband was a flight lieutenant with the RAF at Brize Norton at the time, claimed staff at the Dencare Practice in Wantage treated her differently after she became pregnant.

She said she was forced to squeeze into her normal uniform, carry heavy bottles up stairs, and go on shopping trips despite suffering morning sickness.

Staff from the practice denied being "disgusted" that Mrs Palfrey became pregnant six weeks after accepting the £10,850-a-year job. They said she was not shunned and never complained about her treatment to them. The panel was expected to make a decision today.
