A cancer charity's Oxfordshire fundraising branch urgently needs a new home.

Macmillan Cancer Relief, based in Kidlington, needs to secure new offices so that it can concentrate on raising cash for a new palliative care nurse at the Horton Hospital in Banbury.

The cancer charity has been above Bradford and Bingley Adkin estate agents, in Oxford Road, for the last five years, but the company is selling the premises.

Anne Cooper, Macmillan fundraising manager, praised Bradford and Bingley Adkin for the support it had given the charity.

She said: "They have given us this office for five years. They have been fantastic."

The company let Macmillan Cancer Relief have the office free. The charity would like to secure new premises for free or for a low rent.

Ms Cooper said: "It would be fantastic if someone said: 'We can offer you accommodation and we could offer you a very low rent because you are a charity'.

"We need room for a couple of computers and phone lines.

"We are prepared to look at anything. The emphasis is keeping costs down. We really don't want to start incurring big costs."

For the appeal to be successful Macmillan needs to raise £300,000 over the next three years. Anyone who can help with accommodation or fundraising can call Anne Cooper on 01865 847629.
