A husband's plan to build a home specially adapted for his wheelchair-bound wife has gained the backing of town councillors.
Richard Edwards wants to build a new chalet-type house behind Green Gates in Queens Road, Thame, which can be used easily by his disabled wife, Lorraine.
It will have extra space downstairs and have a garden big enough for their four-year-old son.
The application by Mr Edwards, of Heather Lane, Bicester, said he gained five letters of support from neighbours and two objections.
Thame Town Council planning committee voted not to oppose the plan when it goes before South Oxfordshire District Council, which will have the final decision.
