Thirty-five soldiers at Dalton Barracks near Abingdon took part in a vigorous round of manoeuvres - for charity.
Members of the 60 Transport Squadron 4 General Support Regiment of the Royal Logistic Corps ran ten miles to raise money for the Oxford Down's Syndrome Service.
The soldiers had planned to raise the money in a run at Bramley, near Reading, two weeks ago but the event was cancelled because of the foot and mouth restrictions.
This time the soldiers were confined to barracks - not on a charge but running to help the centre.
A member of the squadron, Cpl Paul Latham, has a six-month-old son Tyler, who has Down's Syndrome, and who attends the centre with his parents.
Cpl Latham said: "The centre provides an invaluable service. Funds raised by us will help children to continue speech, language and communication skills training."
He added: "The centre relies almost entirely on voluntary donations and funds are always needed to continue and expand the service."
