Even a broken arm couldn't stop Elise Claire dancing her way to future stardom. The talented five-year-old from Blackbird Leys, Oxford, started dancing almost as soon as she could walk and has triumphed in scores of disco competitions across southern England and the Midlands.

Proud mum, Lisa, 26, said that even breaking her arm at her birthday party last July did not deter Elise. She returned to dancing within days of an operation to place a metal plate in her arm.

Most recently, the first-year pupil at Pegasus First School, who trains with Kelly Chandler's KC's School of Dance, won her 20th trophy in a row at a regional competition called Stars of Tomorrow at Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.

Lisa, of Field Avenue, Blackbird Leys, describes her only youngster as "my little star", and denies Elise gets her talent from her mum.

"I've got two left feet," she laughed.
