Blenheim Palace is to feature as a location in a film about honour and heroism during the 19th century.
The White Feather, a version of E A W Mason's 1902 novel, is being filmed by director Shekhar Kapur, who directed the epic Elizabeth.
On location: Blenheim Palace
The film stars Heath Ledger, who appeared alongside Mel Gibson in The Patriot.
Mainly filmed in Morocco, the film tells the story of how Ledger's character joins the British army and is preparing to go to the Sudan to fight, only to resign his commission. He is given white feathers a sign of cowardice and dishonour by his comrades, but goes on to save all their lives.
Film publicist Sarah Clark said Blenheim had been chosen for exterior shots of a ball. Shooting began on Monday and would continue until tomorrow. "It's an excellent location just what the director is looking for," she said.
