Paul Simpson, one of the best golfers not playing on the regular Eurpoean tour, is looking for sponsors to help pay his expenses and tournament-playing costs.

The 30-year-old West Berks GC professional, who lives in Witney, is writing to local companies offering an 8,500 corporate package.

In return for the money, Simpson, the reigning Southern Order of Merit winner, would take three amateur partners to play a top course in the South of England.

In addition, he would provide free personal tuition to any number of people over a 12-month period and partner three players at a Pro-am.

For additional money, Simpson said he could take golfers to play some of the top courses in Europe.

"Ideally, I'm looking for one major sponsor," said Simpson.. "But I can scale down the packages for other sponsors."

Those interested can contact him at West Berkshire Golf Club, Chaddleworth, Newbury RG20 7DU. Tel 01488 638851.
