Classic Press Cherwell League Division 2 round-up

**Keith Melksham grabbed a five-wicket haul to give Great and Little Tew a thrilling three-run victory at Chalgrove. Chasing the Tews 163-8 - built around a gritty 52 from Steve Clayton - Chalgrove, who had been 70-6, looked to be on the brink of victory at 160-8 thanks to seventh-wicket stand of 68 between John Talbot and Alan Spiers. But Melksham (5-58) knocked over the last two batsmen without further addition to clinch an exciting win, Steve Murray taking 3-30.

***Oxford Downs blasted the weekend's top score with 242-6 to set up a 107-run win over Kingston Bagpuize. Will Maughan (59 no), Ian Caunce (51), Rob Dow (31 no) and Paddy Daniel (30) led the Downs' run spree. Kingston then caved into 135 all out with Steve Roberts (4-17) and Hugo Thurston (3-20) doing the damage.

***Banbury 2nd bored their way to a draw at Chesterton, scoring just 94-7 from a full 50 overs in reply to Bicester & North Oxford's 184-7. Jeff Hutchinson (43) and Vinod Fazal (32) shone for Bicester.

***Dinton went down by four wickets to Kimble in a local derby. Dinton's 115 all out owed much to Adrian Manger's 46 as spinner Salim Fazal took 4-26. Glyn Lumb then made a fine 45 as Kimble clinched victory at 117-6 with only Peter Ludlow (3-37) achieving any success with the ball.

***Pierre Fourie (3-35) and Neil Langenhoven (3-44) did the damage as Bourton Vale dismissed Bletchley 2nd for 163 to set up a 31-run victory. Earlier, Tommy Graham (68) had led the way in Vale's 194 all out as James Clark (4-26) and Alan Smith (3-43) got among the wickets.
