OXFORD City's clash with Ryman League Division 1 leaders Croydon at Court Place Farm tonight was in danger of being postponed following last night's deluge of biblical proportions.

A pitch inspection was being held at 1pm today, but manager Paul Lee reported that there was little chance of playing.

"The ground is under water," he said.

City were also due to host the Oxfordshire Senior Cup semi-final between Ardley United and Thame United last night, but the match was called off half an hour before kick-off with the pitch waterlogged.

Ardley and Thame will try again at Court Place Farm on Thursday, April 20 (7.30). It will mean Ryman Division 1 promotion-chasers Thame will face three games in the space of five days with league games at home to high-flying Grays Athletic on Saturday, April 22 and the local derby at Oxford City on Monday, April 24.

City, meanwhile, face Witney Town in the other Oxon Senior Cup semi-final at Thame United next Tuesday.
