We never cease to be amazed at the support the Oxford Children's Hospital Campaign continues to attract.

Donations big and small have helped organisers to within sight of their £15m target.

The latest generous donation comes from the family of Kamran Jabble, a four-year-old boy, who died a month after being diagnosed with an acute form of leukaemia.

Kamran saw the new hospital being built during his treatment at the neighbouring John Radcliffe, and would ask whether Bob the Builder worked there.

His family want the Children's Hospital cancer ward to be named after him, and have pledged to raise £1m to pay for it.

Their first donation of £200,000, raised through a series of charity events, will be handed over next week.

Like everyone else who has given so generously to the hospital, the Jabble family deserve our thanks for their commitment and dedication to a worthy cause.
