Thieves stole a digger from the Marlborough School, Woodstock this weekend using it to damage the playing field and pitches.
The small digger was stolen at about 10.30pm from the grounds in Shipton Road on Saturday and driven around the school’s playing field, causing damage to the football pitch, goal posts and nets.
The digger was then dumped in a nearby hedge.
Pc James Challender said: “I would like to speak to anyone who was in the area around this time, who may have seen people acting suspiciously near the school or who witnessed the incident.
“This sort of mindless vandalism is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated.”
