I am an 84-year-old pensioner and I have seen many governments come and go during my lifetime. I believe that the British people have done very well under a Labour Government. More people are enjoying a good standard of living than ever before. Pensioners now have free eye tests, regular medicals, free bus passes, free TV licences, and a generous winter fuel allowance. Labour brought peace to Northern Ireland after decades of civil strife and thousands of deaths. How many more people, both soldiers and civilians, would have died without the Good Friday Agreement? Scotland has its own parliament and Wales has its assembly, something which had been promised for years but never enacted. In the 13 years that Labour has been in power, many new hospitals and schools have been built, and others have been refurbished. This was essential after the long period of neglect under the previous Tory Government. Think before you vote. Do you really want a return to the neglect of the Tory years?
