Britain could see its warmest day of the year so far today as temperatures head towards a balmy 23C (73F).
Parts of south-east England could see the mercury reach at least 22C as much of the country enjoys unseasonably warm weather.
Helen Rossington, a forecaster at MeteoGroup, the weather division of the Press Association, said: "23C is still a possibility - it might be somewhere like Cambridgeshire or Essex."
London is also expected to reach similar temperatures, although there should not be as much sunshine as on Tuesday.
Elsewhere around the UK it will be a bit cooler, with Belfast set to see 19C (66F) and Scotland's north-east coast warmest north of the border at 17C (63F).
South-west winds are providing the warm conditions, but they are not expected to last over the next few days.
Ms Rossington said: "Towards the end of the week the winds are going to be back round to the north, making it much cooler."
Sunday could see temperatures back down to about 12C (54F), she said.
