Will Bratt makes his first visit to the Marrakech street circuit in Morocco this weekend, when the second event of the 2010 FIA Formula 2 Championship gets under way.

Making a strong debut in the category a fortnight ago during the season-opening race meeting at Silverstone, the 22-year-old from Banbury is classified fifth in the driver standings, but tied on points with fourth-placed Dean Stoneman.

Bratt said: “I’m really looking forward to this weekend’s event, it’s always good to go to a new track and with none of the drivers having raced an F2 car there before we should all be on a pretty level playing field.

“At Silverstone we made a decent start to the season, I wasn’t completely happy with our pace but we scored some good points, especially considering the limited testing I had before the event.

"In Marrakech it’ll be very important to get as much track time as possible during the Friday practice sessions to set ourselves up well for qualifying.”

Marrakech is the only street circuit visited by the Formula 2 Championship and its inclusion on the 2010 calendar marks the first visit of F2 to Morocco. Rounds three and four of the season also see F2 join the FIA World Touring Car Championship support package for the first time this year.

The 2.82-mile circuit is situated in the Agdal district of the North African country and features several long straights which should promote plenty of slip-streaming opportunities into the tight chicanes and notorious final corner hairpin.
