A GP has been suspended from practicing anywhere in the county, NHS Oxfordshire announced today.
The trust is currently investigating care provided by Dr Mark Huckstep, who worked at the Kendall Crescent Health Centre and at the Wolvercote Surgery in Oxford.
A spokesman for NHS Oxfordshier declined to reveal why Dr Huckstep had been suspended, or what the trust is investigating.
She said: “NHS Oxfordshire can confirm that Dr Mark Huckstep has been suspended from the Oxfordshire Medical Performers List due to an investigation into the care he has provided at Kendall Crescent Health Centre and Wolvercote Surgery.
“This means that he is unable to practice as a GP in Oxfordshire pending the outcome of the investigation.”
She added: “We are not able to comment further due to the on-going investigation by the PCT, however patient safety is of the utmost importance for NHS Oxfordshire. "
