A DOCTOR admitted failing to hand over a patient after ‘storming out’, a hearing was told.

Dr David Heal became “irate” during the handover to another staff member at Banbury’s Horton General Hospital, the General Medical Council hearing was told.

Selva Ramasamy, for the GMC, said: “He didn’t hand over the patient’s care at all, he simply stormed out and left.”

Dr Heal accepted his handover was “inappropriate”.

He also admitted breaching GMC conditions of his registration by working as a locum doctor without supervision at the hospital in August 2009.

He also admitted abusing speed camera operators in Hove, Sussex.

He is alleged to have become “angry and abusive” to a female operator in October 2007 over a previous ticket, the hearing was told.

And it is alleged he told one who tried to photograph his car: “If you ever come to me for treatment, I will make sure you die.”

He admitted this to the hearing but denied swearing at him.

He admitted being given a conditional discharge by Brighton Magistrates for assaulting a man who tried to repossess his Porsche after he fell behind on payments.

Dr Heal denied pushing an elderly care home patient as she got into an ambulance, but accepted his actions were not in the best interests of the patient and failed to take account of her distress.

He denied failing to inform the GMC about the Banbury post and being dishonest but accepted he was misleading.

The hearing continues.
