I COULDN’T believe Headington’s good luck when Field and Jacob opened in March 2010. What an asset. We all love it.
It is a quality shop with professional, friendly, helpful staff, and first-class service, where one can buy fresh vegetables, has a delicatessen and café, which is always busy, serving excellent cooked food. And because of its convenient location, it attracts local customers and those who come to shop in Headington.
Young mums gather there with their babies and children after school and during school holidays.
So I was dumfounded when I met my daughter there for lunch, to learn the council was recommending that Field and Jacobs’s planning application for mixed use should be refused.
Field and Jacob has indeed made a positive and welcome impact on the area.
A popular business that is doing so well must not be driven out of Headington.
