POLICE and PCSOs have been carrying out door-to-door investigations in Blackbird Leys, Oxford, to find out who is behind a spate of vandalism at a nursery school.

Yesterday the Oxford Mail revealed Shepherd’s Hill Nursery, on the grounds of Windale Primary School, had been attacked by vandals for the second time in seven days.

Toys and play equipment, including goalposts worth about £200, were smashed, and mud and sand were smeared on the walls.

Staff also arrived to scenes of destruction at the nursery on Monday November 1, when human faeces was found in flowerpots.

The cost of the damage from the two attacks is believed to top £500.

Sgt Rob Axe, from the Blackbird Leys neighbourhood team, said police would patrol the school, particularly over weekends.

He also said PCSOs would be available during break times to speak to children who want to pass on information.

Anyone with information should call Sgt Axe on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
