Officers from Thames Valley Police’s Priority Crime Team have recovered several items of what they believe to be stolen jewellery, after locating three stolen vehicles.

A black Audi S5 Quattro was found in Old Grimsbury Road, Banbury, on Wednesday, and a black Volkswagen Golf was found in Warwickshire on Tuesday, February 1. A third vehicle, a gold-coloured BMW, has been found in Slough. All three vehicles are suspected of using cloned number plates to commit offences across the Thames Valley.

The find comes after officers made progress in their investigations into several burglaries across Banbury.

Other stolen items believed to be connected to this investigation were found in a hedgerow on Rosedale Avenue, Banbury, on Friday, February 11.

PC Steve Perry, of the Priority Crime Team, said: “Inside the stolen vehicles were items of jewellery also believed to be stolen. Police forensic experts are currently conducting tests to obtain any available evidence. “I am asking members of the community to remain vigilant at this time and to report any suspicious activity in and around the Banbury area.

“We are having a viewing of the recovered jewellery between 10am and 12pm on Saturday, March 12,at Banbury Police Station.

"Please come along to speak to us if you recognise any of the jewellery or you have any concerns or information that could help our investigations."
