THE first lambs of the New Year can mean just one thing – spring is on the way.
Hundreds of people visited Foxbury Farm, in Brize Norton, across the weekend to meet the new arrivals at the All About Ewe event.
They also learnt all about foot trimming and all the uses of wool, and also got to discover what other animals lived on the farm.
Sharon Wingrove, from Carterton, took her 11-year-old daughter Rhianon, on Sunday. She said: “Rhianon had a lovely day and really enjoyed having a cuddle with the lambs.
“It’s lovely for the children to be able to pick up the lambs and learn all about them.
“It also means spring must be approaching, which is wonderful after the long winter months.”
Farmer Colin Dawes said: “We think it’s really important the children learn about the whole cycle.”
