INDIAN food, music and dance entertained members of Oxfordshire’s Hindu population in a summer Mela.
More than 350 people attended the fete on Saturday at Sandhills Primary School in Terrett Avenue, Headington.
This is the second year the fete has been held and money raised will go towards the Oxford Hindu Temple and Community Centre Project.
Festival organiser Kanta Gopal said £60,000 has been raised so far, with the Mela adding an estimated £2,000.
Mother-of-three Mrs Gopal, of Abingdon, said: “There are 5,000 Hindus across Oxfordshire, so we would love to find premises for a new centre in Oxford.
“There is no centre for us at the moment where we can hold regular cultural, musical or academic events, or prayer meetings.
“There were people of all ages at the Mela, from toddlers to pensioners, and it was a good, family, community event, with lots of colourful music and dancing displays.”
One dancer, Nyomi Khan, 17, of Botley, said: “It was a lovely day. It was nice to see so many people come along from all parts of the community.
