More than 7,000 people are benefiting from hundreds of discounts through our Oxford Mail loyalty card scheme.

Everyone who signs up to get the paper delivered six days a week will receive the discount card.

For hard-pressed families struggling to find ways to keep everyone occupied during the long summer holidays, there are dozens of ideas.

For a cut-price day out, you could head to Didcot Railway Centre, where one child goes free with a paying adult, then Nando’s for lunch, with 10 per cent off all food. And finish the day at Oxford Castle Unlocked, benefiting from 20 per cent off admission.

Newspaper sales incentive manager Margaret Marsh said: “We have had some great feedback from retailers and customers. There are some really good offers.”

There are now 440 different businesses signed up to the scheme, meaning families could potentially save hundreds, if not thousands of pounds.

Senior newspaper sales rep Jo Coady said: “This is a perfect time to sign up to get the Oxford Mail delivered. Not only will you get the best in Oxfordshire news and sport delivered to your door six days a week, but to thank you for your loyalty, you can save in almost every area you can imagine.”

Among those signed up to the scheme is Jenny Dobson, 48, from Bicester. She said: “It’s been brilliant, we have had lots of money off. I’ve used it to go out with friends from work to Frankie and Benny’s, Nando’s and Las Iguanas.”
