REGARDING the story on Mr Clive Stone (Oxford Mail, September 28), the cancer drug campaigner, who are these so-called specialists on the use of life-extending drugs?

Have we really got to the stage in our country where a group of people can dictate that finance can come before a matter of a possible cure for an illness?

Is it right that finance can come before giving hope to a human being in so much discomfort and living in sheer darkness and torment that his or her life will be cut short, a person wishing simply to extend their life?

It must be even harder knowing that just a breath away is the help they need to give them an extra amount on this Earth with their loved ones.

I know in my heart of hearts that Dr Peter Skoler and his so-called specialists would have a very different opinion if it was the difference between life and death of one of their children, wives or loved ones.

I believe most truly they would be fighting each other to get to the drug cupboard first.

Never mind though, Christmas will soon be here and all you experts, I suppose, will be on your knees giving thanks and wishing all Mankind well.

Dr Skoler says it is wrong to spend money on people who are terminally ill. What kind of man is this?

I only hope that for the sake of our future generations his way of thinking is put in the trash can where it belongs.
