Man spots flying craft in night sky

The pictures taken by Mr Fairbanks in Blackbird Leys on October 6

STRANGE flying craft with flashing lights have been spotted hovering above Greater Leys.

That’s according to Alex Fairbanks, who saw the objects while enjoying a cigarette in his garden.

The 42-year-old said he couldn’t sleep, so went outside at 5.30am on the morning of October 6. And that is when he saw the ‘metal objects’ flying above him.

He said: “I have never seen anything like it before in my life. I was amazed.

“They were about 200m away in the sky and clear as day. For me, it’s proof beyond all doubt that we’re not alone.”

Mr Fairbanks described one of the objects as about 100ft in length with flashing lights all the way around it.

The other one was metal with red lights and an opening door. He described it as “hanging in the sky”.

He said: “When people say they’ve seen something like this, they say it’s life changing. That sounds daft but it is.

“I’ve never believed we were alone in the universe, but I didn’t believe in this kind of thing.”

The blurred pictures taken by Mr Fairbanks show bright lights above the house.

He said the vessels then flew over his neighbours’ home, briefly came back and then flew off again.

He said: “I want to know if anyone else saw what I saw.

“And if anyone can give me a rational explanation and tell me what they are, I’m more than happy to say I’m wrong.

“I just want to know what they were.”

Local UFO expert Michael Soper, from the Wheatley-based Contact International UFO Research, said: “We have recorded 247 paranormal events in Oxfordshire since records began 100 years ago, and this is the latest.”

Me thinks it was probably the police helicopter, they've been raiding a lot of drug dens in the area recently. maybe Mr. Fairbanks was affected by something wafting through the air ;-)

5.30am?

That'll be planes stacking to land at Heathrow...

Or aircraft movements at Benson...

Or the Police Helicopter...

Should check with the Village Green chaps really. They claim that they often lie out in Blackbird Leys park at night and look at the sky - they might have seen something.

dont you love how all these people who spot these things can't take a decent picture? if it was 200m away a fairly standard 55-100mm lens or one with about 4x digital zoom shoulda done the trick!

Please don't dismiss this man as a wacko or a drunk,I saw the same thing on the same night.
I live further up Cowley way and saw a strange craft making odd movements over the horsepath road area at 23.30,and then between 4.30 and 6.00 am I spotted these small metallic looking objects in the sky over the greater leys area again making odd movements.....not the kind of thing you would associate with a helicopter or any other craft that we know of,and no I wasn't high or drunk....being a clean living man kind of throws that one out the door doesn't it.

I have no doubts that there are intelligent life forms out there somewhere, but the fact they are intelligent, is a good reason for them to avoid this planet at all costs

You're having a laugh aren't you? They'd get bumped right to the top of the social housing list and I'm sure there are all sorts of other benefits they could lay claim to

...or at least Blackbird and Greater Leys. Hovering about there in the middle of the night is not something I'd recommend to intelligent life forms.

I hope they had the sense to count the wheels on their space craft after they had hovered over the Leys for such a long time.

This is nothing.

I regularly get abducted by flying 'metal craft with lights'. It happens at least once a year - more if I am lucky. The lifeforms aboard them look like us but all wear uniforms.
I am usually 'tansported' to another planet where they speak in words I cannot understand, feed me 'food' superior to our own. They treat me well and deposit me back to earth after a couple of weeks. The only trouble is they always deposit me at their holding pen just outside London where I am treated abysmally by these disgusting creatures who require me to show them my papers and throw my belongings around with wild abandon. Sometimes they never return my belongings at all. I always manage to escape though.

Black Bird from the Leys says...

The same night I saw a boy riding a BMX through the leys. Nothing weird about that but he had what look like a goblin covered in a blanket sat on a milk crate on the front of the bike.

The plot thickens..

What I can never figure out is what a craft that can travel across the galaxy at speeds beyond the speed of light needs headlights for ?!?!?
