At a time of year when loneliness and isolation can be at a peak, Style Acre’s Christmas Party brings all the adults with learning disabilities that we support together, along with their families and carers to enjoy good food, fun and presents.

Not only does it bring joy to the people we support, but it provides a vital occasion for their families to get together socially to meet others in similar circumstances to themselves.

But we need to raise £2,000 to fund the cost of holding a Christmas party, which is a lifeline for 200 guests. Style Acre enhances the lives of people with learning disabilities in creative and innovative ways. Every individual is valued and supported to lead a more meaningful life by realising their true potential. This party is one way to achieve this.

Kate Liddle, chief executive of Style Acre, said: “It is easy to forget how much pressure families and carers are under when they are looking after someone with learning disabilities. Christmas often adds to that pressure so we place great emphasis on our Christmas party to make sure that everyone has a great time. We ensure that everyone gets a present and it is obvious from previous years just how much everyone enjoys letting their hair down. We don’t want anyone to feel lonely or isolated at Christmas. We understand that times are hard, but if you can donate the price of one present, you will be helping to raise smiles, which is priceless.”
