Among this year’s Oxford Christmas decorations I noticed a bicycle pulling a sleigh above the High Street.
I am unaware whether there is supposed to be any profound significance to this but what little kid is going to be daft enough to believe that sledges can actually fly through the sky?
Anyway, when Sir Roger Bannister has performed the “great honour” of switching on the illuminations, it will be comforting to know that there is at least one bike with working lights in the city.
