I wonder how many people read on Tuesday (Oxford Mail, The Scales of Justice)?
Almost invariably I skip over this regular page. However, I glanced at it this time and read the second entry.
Having attended many court hearings over the years, in a professional capacity, I know that media reports can never tell the full tale...but. Having admitted theft of a bag worth £5,400, one would have expected a fairly lengthy community order at the least. So what did this lady get? A conditional discharge – not even a suspended sentence! And a £200 compensation order. I’m tempted to take up a life of crime.
