OXON: More than two thirds of Oxfordshire’s schools will be fully or partially closed today in the biggest public sector strikes for 85 years.
Last night, 158 schools had announced they would close today and a further 52 will only be open to some pupils. Seventy-nine schools have said they will be fully open.
Pickets are expected across the county at hospitals, police stations, colleges and council offices as union members walk out over Government changes to their pensions.
A march through Oxford is set to disrupt traffic from 1.30pm onwards.
