I WAS much surprised at your correspondence about North Parade.
I have always been told that Cromwell parked his guns at ‘Grinfield’ in Norham Gardens, and that the Royal Artillery was set at ‘The King’s Mound’, in Mansfield Road (which I believe, has since been removed).
Can your historians shed any light on this matter?
