AMID all the festivities, it is easy to forget the real meaning of Christmas.
But carol singers will be making sure we get the real message, as they have for many years.
The first picture was taken in 1979 when the Lord Mayor of Oxford, John Hamilton, held the annual town hall carol concert.
Several hundred people packed the main hall to join in the traditional carols.
The second picture shows children in full voice at Hook Norton Primary School in 1963.
Pupils sang carols from a number of countries, including Poland, Czechoslovakia, France, Italy and Holland.
