AN Oxford-based artist is looking for toy cars to add into his new installation at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
Athol Whitmore is creating a piece called Multitude of Stories for the children’s emergency department.
A selection of his work, including a smaller piece, is on show at the Sarah Wiseman Gallery in South Parade, Summertown.
The gallery is now asking for anyone with any unwanted toy cars to donate them towards the project.
Gallery assistant Sarah Lacey, above, said: “We have been told so many stories about forgotten boxes of toy cars stored in attics.
“And people can of course come and see Athol’s work all this month at the gallery as well.”
The ambitious project will be installed later this year to coincide with the refurbishment of the emergency department.
To donate toy cars, visit the gallery in South Parade or contact them on 01865 515123.
