POLICE investigating reports of drug dealing raided two houses in Kidlington yesterday.

Five officers searched two houses in Cherwell Avenue at about 9.30am.

Three people at the first house were detained while a search took place.

Two were released soon after while a 19-year-old man was questioned at Kidlington Police Station before being released.

Police said a few grams of unidentified white powder were found and would be tested by forensic experts. No one was arrested at the second house but police said evidence of drug smoking was found.

Sgt Travi said: “Our intelligence told us there was drug dealing at both addresses.

“We want to try to send a message to the public.

“If people complain to us then we are failing them if we don’t do anything.

“But at the end of the day we want to be proportionate.”

Officers said the raids were unconnected.
