AN RAF technician accused of raping a colleague has told jurors his accuser “definitely consented” to sex.

Sergeant Stewart Fryatt, who works on Merlin helicopters at RAF Benson, is charged with forcing himself on a 22-year-old woman at the airbase.

The 38-year-old defendant, who denies rape and a serious sexual assault, yesterday took to the witness stand at Oxford Crown Court.

He said he and the woman were chatting while watching rugby in a bar on the base on March 19 last year.

Fryatt said he first met the woman four days earlier, and on this night they were flirting with each other.

He went outside with the woman to help her find a toilet, Fryatt said, and she came back and began kissing him.

Fryatt said the woman then performed a sex act on him and he reciprocated, before having full intercourse.

Asked if she did anything to indicate she did not want it to happen, Fryatt said: “No, she definitely consented.”

The trial continues.
