'A piece of rock history’ is how agents desescribe a four-storey Victorian town house in Walton Manor.

The six-bedroom property was home to top indie band Foals for almost two years and where they penned second album Total Life Forever, nominated for the 2010 Mercury Prize.

The Kingston Road house was frequently mentioned on the band’s website and during interviews as ‘The House of Supreme Mathletics.’ While there, the basement was converted into a recording studio, complete with control room and false ceiling. The band, some of who studied at Abingdon School and Oxford University, also decorated walls with graffiti, part of which was kept as a souvenir, pictured.

The house, which has period features including high ceilings, original fireplaces and sash windows, includes two large reception rooms and back garden.

Francis Winstone-Partridge, of agents Chancellors, said: “It is part of Oxford’s rock history and who knows, one day might even have a blue plaque outside.

“One of the reasons it was ideal for Foals is its fabulous location — close to the bars and restaurants of Jericho in a cosmopolitan and creative area.

“It has been let to students and could continue to be used as an investment or turned into a luxury family home.”

Number 15, Kingston Road is on the market for £760,000.
