A 14-year-old boy was sentenced at Oxford Crown Court today for raping a 77-year-old woman.

The boy, who cannot be named due to his age, was ordered to be detained for public protection, with a minimum of two years minus 65 days served.

The teenager raped the 77-year-old woman in Banbury on November 12 after asking to be let into her house to talk about the war, Oxford Crown Court heard. The boy pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to one count of rape.
