OXFORDSHIRE County Council leader Keith Mitchell says he is happy that the county’s local government pension fund is profiting from stupid smokers.

I disagree with the idea that smokers should subsidise the council’s pensions.

And where on earth have they found £20m to invest in the first place? They are always on about having no money.

When I started smoking back in 1955, smoking was a big thing and advertised everywhere. And the tax on smokers actually funded our NHS.

Because you’re a non-smoker, this doesn’t give you the right to call people who do smoke stupid.

I feel the sooner Mr Mitchell is out of office, the better everyone will feel.
