Sir – Thank you for printing the news of our plight over traffic in Crawley (Report, February 16). The situation is, as you state, quite unacceptable and as seen from your article, to have no democratic way of being represented either by West Oxfordshire District Council or Oxfordshire County Council.

Our roads are in a permanent state of disrepair. Drivers have little or no consideration for other drivers or residents, and those ‘in charge’ seem to lack basic common sense when planning (or rather not planning) infrastructure before building hundreds of houses.

Do we have to wait for a major accident and a few deaths before common sense prevails?
