A NEW art gallery is set to open its doors in Woodstock with a private view to showcase established and up and coming Oxfordshire artists.

The Junction Art Gallery in Oxford Street will launch with a private view of hand-crafted ceramics, painting, glass, sculpture and jewellery on March 1.

Among the artists whose work will be displayed are jewellers Poppy Dandiya and Leonardo Pieroni, ceramicists John Leach and Gabriele Koch, painter Lisa Traxler and sculptor Rachel Ducker.

Director Kate Hipkiss said: “Junction Art Gallery’s ethos is simple: to provide a platform for contemporary, British-based artists and makers, and to enable people to discover and enjoy what is being produced in this country.

“It’s very exciting to be able to offer the people of Oxfordshire a chance to appreciate such outstanding artwork.”

A permanent collection will be on show, plus exhibitions introducing unknown artists.
