TREES came down in Banbury’s parks as residents battled the weekend storms.
Two large trees by the war memorial in People’s Park came down overnight on Sunday and were removed the next day.
A cherry tree was also damaged and had to be removed.
Banbury Town Council recreation and amenities manager Mike Hall said they would be replaced.
He said: “It is always disappointing to see trees coming down. But they were diseased and that is probably why.”
A total of eight trees maintained by the council came down in Browning Road, Spiceball Park, Easington Park and Hardwick Hill Cemetery.
