May I, through your paper, say a big thank you to all the staff on the SSIP ward in the West Wing of the John Radcliffe Hospital.

After suffering a hand injury last week I was admitted to the SSIP ward last Thursday. I spent the best part of two days on the ward and found all the staff there to be very helpful and friendly.

I was put at ease by the doctors and nursing staff and the catering staff and porters couldn’t do enough for me and were very helpful and cheerful at all times.

The food was excellent and the cleanliness of the ward could not be faulted.

The NHS gets enough bad press, so deserves credit where it’s due, well done and a big thank you to all the staff on SSIP ward.

My hand, thanks to the excellent care I received, is now fully on the road to recovery.
