PEOPLE around Oxford are soaking up the sun this week as temperatures soar.
Yesterday was the hottest day of the year so far and the weather is here to stay for the rest of the week.
Graeme Murray, 28, from Cowley, was out enjoying the weather.
He said: “It was nice. This weather has been a long time coming.”
The Met Office is forecasting a high of 24C today and 25C tomorrow, coming on the heels of last month’s record rainfall.
This is expected to continue for the rest of the week when temperatures begin to dip – but only to around 22C.
Dan Williams, of the Met Office, said: “It is quite normal to get fairly big variations in temperature during May.
“At the moment we are getting some warm air coming from the continent and plenty of sunshine.”
